A glass of wine contains the very essence of Hungarian cultural history. Hungary had been a great power in wine production for centuries. It possessed eveiy required element for being that: increasing expertise, fruitful tradition, suitable soil, excellent climate, adaptable species and national romanticism - all indispensable for viniculture. Our ancestors filled the Carpathian Basin with evidence of that hegemony. All castles and monasteries of the country had cellars suitable for storing wine. The landscape forming system of vineyards, wine cellars and press-houses emerged over time.
