ACCENTS, ORNAMENTS, AND FINISHING TOUCHES FOR THE GARDEN

oday the garden is more than a place for plants. Naturally, plants are sdll the focal point, but other elements, such as statuary, fountains, walls and fences, garden seats, and gazebos are wonderful ways to enhance a garden landscape. While nature is and always will be the heart of the garden, we can arrange nature's artwork to suit our tastes, and add a personal stamp with our choice of garden ornaments. Garden Details proves the point delightfully. J» In Part One: Garden Accents, learn how to elevate even the most ordinary objects into the realm of art, simply by careful placement in the garden. You'll also discover how to select garden accents that are both practical and decorative, such as a pair of antique oil lamps placed near a path to illuminate evening strolls.
J» Containers are a fiin and easy way to personalize and add style to otherwise ordinary garden spaces. From patios and terraces to windowsills and entryways. Part Two: Pots and Containers traverses an array of landscapes, presenting visual proof that container gardening has come a long way firom terracotta flowerpots. You'll also discover how to create artful combinations of foliage and flowers, learning what special qualities to look for when choosing plants to share a pot. 3» Gardens are often a place of repose, reflection, and relaxation. Keeping this in mind. Part Three: Seats and Benches glides through a panorama of garden furniture that is sure to enhance tranquillity in any garden environment—^whether formal, naturalistic, or rustic.
