This battery consists of 40 separate tests: 4 tests which are equivalent in difficulty, at each of ten levels from beginners to advanced. The levels are numbered 050, 100, 150, etc up to 500 and the books are made up as follows:
Book 1 Elementary 12 tests from 050A to 150D Book 2 Intermediate
12 tests from 200A to 300D Book 3 Advanced 16 tests from 350A to 500D Teacher's Book Notes and Answers
Each of the 40 tests contains 50 items and in every case students have to choose the correct answer from four choices.
Each test takes 45 minutes.
Answers should be given on separate answer sheets or as the teacher decides.
The tests cover a wide range of items appropriate to the various levels from beginners to advanced, and are the most accurate means of measuring the general standard of English which forms the basis for specific skills such as composition writing, comprehension, etc.
All the items in these tests have been carefuUy pretested.

Quickcheck Placement Tests
The Quickcheck Tests, based on questions selected from the Nelson English Language Tests, are a simple and rapid method of placement for all levels from beginnings to advanced.
For security purposes four equivalent loose-leaf tests are provided, each containing 100 questions of gradually increasing difficulty. Answer masks are used for fast and easy scoring.
Accompanying notes show how to use the results for immediate placement, and also explain their relationship with the Nelson English Language Tests, which can be used to confirm Quickcheck results if time permits. Vissza
