VACUUM-TUBE and SEMICONDUCTOR ELECTRONICS

A fully integrated treatment of vacuum-tubes and transistors is presented for the first time in this new text, especially designed for the first course in electronics.
The first objective in this outstanding new book is to present a clear, consistent picture of the internal physical behavior and simultaneously of the external circuit characteristics of vacuum, gaseous, and semiconductor devices.
As a second goal, the transistor story is truly interwoven with vacuum-tube electronics. The consideration of the motion of charged particles in a vacuum and the electronic theory of a metal leads immediately into a discussion of the nature of a semiconductor. After the analysis of the vacuum diode, the p-n junction is given careful consideration, succeeded directly by the treatment of vacuum photocells and semiconductor photo-devices. A study of vacuum triode characteristics and equivalent circuits is immediately followed by a corresponding... Tovább

A study of vacuum triode characteristics and equivalent circuits is immediately followed by a corresponding analysis of transistor characteristics and transistor equivalent circuits.
The diird objective is to teach electronic circuit theory in such a manner as to provide an intimate understanding of, and intuitive feeling for each vacuum-tube and semiconductor device as a circuit element.
This expert, thorough book emphasizes methods of analysis and characteristics common to many different devices and circuits. For example, it considers in detail the concept of load line and the bias curve, input and output impedances, small signal equivalent circuits, Thevenins' and Norton's representations, large signal nonlinear distortions, frequency response, the effects of feedback, etc. Vissza
