This book is a collection of documentary essays about today's generation of young people in the Soviet Union, people in their twenties and thirties who live in various parts of this enormous multinational country, the territory of which covers one-sixth of the earth's land surface, both in Europe and Asia.
This book is about young representatives of the working class, the peasantry, the intelligentsia, people of every profession. Each one has his or her own destiny, problems, interests and passions. And, for all the different personalities they possess, they all have certain features in common: a high level of education, wide breadth of knowledge, independence, a wish to be active and a desire to participate in the solving of important tasks of nationwide significance.
