The series* focus is on providing students and good nonac-ademic readers with a thorough understanding of the featured authors and their works. In order to accomplish this, each authors' works are identified and explained in depth. The use of themes, language, points of view, structures, symbolism and responses to experience are included, as are annotated bibliographies in many cases. While these books are not to be considered substitutes for the actual works they introduce, they are excellent supplementary material.

About the Author:
Kathleen McNerney is an eclectic scholar whose works include studies of writers from various times and places. She is the author of books on the fifteenth-century poet Ausias March and the novelist Joanot Martorell as well as works on contemporary Catalan women writers. She has also written on Spanish, French, and Latin American authors both classic and current. McNerney is from New Mexico and teaches Spanish literature at West Virginia University, but considers Barcelona her real home. Vissza
