The underground miracles of Budapest are as little known to the inhabitants of the city as they are to the millions of tourists visiting here every year. These curious locations are introduced to the reader by the twinvolumes Underground Buda, Underground Pest. The beit of hills on the left-hand-side of the Danube suggests, with its steep rock formations and ravines, a varied underground world. The natural cavities förmed in the rock by millions of years have been extended and adapted to humán needs by the inhabitants of the city.
