Christian Queghan, Myth Technologist highly respected scientist on the planet known as Earth IVn. Like so many other worlds colonized generations ago, Earth IVn was created to be as much like Old Earth as possible-though Old Earth itself is now the stuii oi myth and legend.
Myth Technology studies psychic phenomena, archetypes, and "meaningful coincidences" It assumes that all realities are equally probable, without giving undue weight to the one we happen to be in at the moment. It is not a field for everybody. And, it is not without its dangers. A machine has been developed that will project a researcher into one of the infinite number of possible futures of Earth IVn-with only a 50% chance of bringing him back again. Queghan would be the ideal subject, and Queghan cannot resist the idea of going where no man has gone before.
