Anne Frank wrote her famous diary from the age of thirteen
while hiding for more than two years in the secret annexe
of her father's Amsterdam warehouse, escaping the horrors of
Nazi occupation.
Anne's grandmother Alice and her daughter, Anne's Aunt Leni,
left over 6,000 letters and diaries carefully preserved amongst
opera hats and evening gowns in the attic of their home.
These include photographs of Anne and her family, letters from
her her father's letters from Auschwitz a nd his poignant
descriptions of searching for his family after the war and the
miraculous return of the diaries. With her natural storytelling
talent, Mirjam Pressler, the editor of the definitive edition of
the diary, weaves this new-found material into a story which
