SERIES
THERE are, of course, public school stories in plenty being written to-day, but about those of Gunby Hadath there is something extra special-—their humour, their humanity, their abundance of lively incident and credible but exciting adventure, their ease and naturalness, have placed them in a class quite by themselves. In equal preeminence are his more than likeable characters—Garry, or Fruppeny or the lugubrious Sparrow are boys worth knowing.
The only trouble is, it's so difficult for boys to keep a hold of their copies of Gunby Hadath's books, for as often as not fathers or uncles, having surreptitiously purloined them, are to be found lurking in corners, chuckling over and thoroughly enjoying them, and emphatically refusing to give them up to their rightful owners until thev have devoured the very last word!
