The Lion is wheezy tóday, displaying only worn teeth. Do we cherish sufficiently our other heral-dic symbol the Unicom, which to the author stands for the imaginative, creative, boldly inventive side of the national character?
Even at his most pugnacious, Mr. Priestley remains witty, warm and human. These provocative essays make a lasting impression, for he spotlights some aspects of our national life which we have perhaps uneasily noted, penetrates to the heart of them and illuminâtes them for us. Vissza
