Inspired by the magnificent and spectacularly beautiful treasures of Tutankhamen, artists and craftsmen are using Egyptian designs in high fashion, jewelry, fabric, needlework, wallpaper and a host of other items. Theodore Menten, noted graphic designer, has drawn upon original, ancient Egyptian sources and has adapted them as stencils. Here are 50 working stencils which capture the strength, spirit and essence of the originals, and which you can cut out and use.
This rich collection contains full-page images of gods and pharaohs, a great variety of stylized floral patterns large and small based on the lotus and other flowers, many animals (scarabs, lions, eagles, vultures, ibises, etc.) and mythical creatures in hieroglyphic and natural settings. Very attractive and very useful repeating border designs (with corners) accompany many of the larger stencils.

Use these stencils for decorating walls, floors, furniture, fabrics, tin, leather and almost any other surface. The designs can be used by graphic designers or adapted for woodwork, needlework and other arts and crafts. Complete instructions for using the stencils and a list of the materials you will need are given in the introduction.
