At Home and Abroad By SERGE LEMOINE
This collection of pictures of the Royal Family is published as a unique record of their activities in the course of official duties and somé of their moments of happy relaxation.
It is intended as a tribute to the Royal Family and in particular to Her Majesty The Queen who this year will reach her fiftieth birthday, and who will shortly celebrate her Silver Jubilee.
Ali the pictures have been selected by the photographer, Serge Lemoine, from the thousands of photographs he has taken during the past four years in which period he has covered twenty five Royal tours throughout the world.

Deliberately avoiding the bond of chronological order he uses the pages of the book as a canvas upon which he spreads his colours from a palette of picture files.
It is obvious that he is at one with his camera and his subject. From the dignity of great state occasions one's eye is swept to the carefree moments when the joy of living is captured through the lens of a sensitive artist.
On any Royal Tour the hardest working participants are those members of the Royal Family concerned, but alongside are the many individuals contributing to the success of the tour including the journalists and photographers whose responsibilities are to feed the world's press with the stories and pictures so eagerly awaited by an international readership. Prominent amongst these has been Serge Lemoine whose sensitivity in photography has earned him the respect of his Fleet Street colleagues.
There is probably no photo-journalist today, of any nationality, whose affection for the Royal Family is so apparent in his work. In this book, he attempts to share this understanding and respect with those of us fortunate enough to own this record of a much loved family. Vissza
