This book is based on the authors' experience of developing a
health promotion strategy in a region of 2.5 million people over the
past five years and of participating in the development of the World
Health Organization 'Healthy Cities' Project. The book will be of
relevance to a wide range of policy makers and practitioners as well
as interested members of the public. It is a work which is based on
practical experience of making the new public health actually
happen.
An important book for a wide range of policy makers and
practitioners and for all those concerned with preventative
health care.
. (Health for All 2000),
. this book should be added to any reading list which
concerns primary health care and development.
(Health Policy and Planning)
This cheerful and enthusiastic book is one of the most
accurate and accessible descriptions of what is meant by 'the
new public health'.
(Critical Public Health)
The authors' style, which recounts experience rather than
offering rhetoric, is welcome and there is much in the book for
others to emulate.
