"Either these Features on Mars are natural and this investigation is a complete waste of time, or they are artificial and this is one of the most important discoveries of our entire existence on Earth. If they are artificial it is imperative that we figure them out, because they 'do not belong there.' Their presence may be trying very hard to tell us something extraordinary." —Richard C. Hoagland
a) The "City": a collection of features whose major axes parallel those of the "Face." The "City" sits astride North latitude 40.86 degrees, whose tangent equals e divided by pi (both universal mathematical constants).
b)The "City Square," at the exact lateral center of the "City": a centerpoint feature surrounded by four others, not unlike a "target" or "cross-hairs." Viewed from this center-point, the Summer Solstice sun rose directly over the "Face," ' 2 million years agO;

a) The "City": a collection of features whose major axes parallel those of the "Face." The "City" sits astride North latitude 40.86 degrees, whose tangent equals e divided by pi (both universal mathematical constants).
b)The "City Square," at the exact lateral center of the "City": a centerpoint feature surrounded by four others, not unlike a "target" or "cross-hairs." Viewed from this center-point, the Summer Solstice sun rose directly over the "Face," ' 2 million years agO;
c) The "Fortress," with thick, straight "walls" and an apparent interior space. The long wall points directly at the "D&M Pyramid."
d)The "Face," one mile from crown to chin. First noticed by NASA in 1976 and dismissed a.s a "trick of light and shadow."
e) The "Cliff," perched on the pedestal of a massive impact crater. Absence of any impact damage suggests more recent origin. Appears
directly behind the "Face" as a backdrop, against Summer Solstice sunrise. Terrain behind it shows evidence of possible excavation. Inclined "access road" leads from excavation to upper ridge, set at 20 degrees to true north-same angle as axis tilt of planet ' 2 million years ago.
Viewed from the South, it appears as a stylized human face, with eyes and brow ridges, symmetrical cheekbones, mouth and chin.
f) The 5-sided "D&M Pyramid." Apparently damaged by explo,sive penetration. Reconstructed, it appears to have proportions of typical human figure. Its "head" points directly toward the "Face."
The ratio of distances between the Western edge of the "City," the "City Square," the Eastern edges of the "City" and "Face," and the "Cliff," is exactly 1:2:4:8.
