The Glory of the Holy Land descri-bes the places that are sacred to Jews, Christians or Moslems; in addition, somé of the other religious sects in the Holy Land, such as the Druzes and Bahais, are described in the text and illustra-tions. The book follows a geographical plan, beginning with the Sinai, with particular emphasis on the famed Santa Caterina monastery. Further chapters deal with the Negev, including the ancient Nabataean cities; Judaea, with Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Hebron; the Jordán Valley, including Jericho; the Jordán River; Qumran and Masada; Samaria, including Nablus and Beth Shean; the Galilee and Laké Tiberias; Capemaum; Nazareth and Cana; and, finally, the Coastal Plain, including Haifa, Caesarea and Ramlah.
