Nissan mindel, distinguished author, editor and translator, was trained in European Yeshivot, where he received his Rabbinicai ordination. He studied Law and Political Science at the University of Manchester (England), which he graduated with B.A. and M.A., he received his Ph.D. in Semitic Languages from Columbia University.
Dr. Mindéi has been associated with the Chabad'Lubavitch movement since 1940 as an executive of the Merkos L'inyonei Chinuch, the educational arm of the Lubavitch Movement, serving alsó on the Editorial Board of the Kehot Publication Society and the Chabad Research Center.
A prolific and versatile author and translator, Dr. Mindéi is the author of The Compete Festivctl Series, My Prayer, The Commandments, Tanya (translation), Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, The Philosophy of Chabad and The Storyteller (4 volumes). Dr. Mindéi has been the long-time editor of the popular monthly magazines Talks and Tales and Shmuessen Mit Kinder un Yugent.
Ali these works have been translated into several languages, and have seen many editions. They are considered important scholarly and educational contributions, and have become standard works in their respective fields.
