Raising plants from seeds or cuttings is one of the greatest pleasures for the gardener. The Complete Book of Plant Propagation is the only book the amateur gardener will need on this subject, it will provide inspiration and information for a lifetime of successful propagation.
All aspects of the subject are covered and every method is clearly illustrated. Colour photographs and numerous line drawings enhance the very detailed text covering not only the history of plant propagation and a study of recent developments, but more specific instruction on techniques such as seed sowing undercover, raising plants from spores, through to grafting, budding and even micropropagation.
The encyclopaedia of plants and their propagation forms a major part of the book detailing specific techniques required for certain plants. Hardy ornamental plants and fruiting plants, hardy and tender vegetables and culinary herbs are amongst the many categories explained. This is a most useful reference... Tovább

This is a most useful reference section for any gardener and will be particularly helpful to the horticultural student and professional nurseryman.
Graham Clarke studied horticulture for two years at the Royal Horticultural Society's garden at Wisley, and at the Merrist Wood College of Agriculture and Horticulture, both in Surrey. He is currently Editor of Amateur Gardening magazine.
He broadcasts frequently on radio, when he is not writing or tending his windswept rural garden, which he shares with his family in Wimborne, Dorset.
Alan Toogood trained at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and Brighton Parks and Gardens Department before going on to a two-year studentship at the Royal Horticultural Society's Garden at Wisley, Surrey.
For several years he was Editor of the monthly magazine Greenhouse. He is now Technical and Production Editor for The Garden. He has written many gardening books, and is Horticulture Correspondent for The Times. Vissza
