László Szűcs graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical H Engineering of the Budapest Technical University in 1 1953. In 1964 he gained his doctorate summa cum laude jg* f at the same university. He holds a Ph Degree in Technical Sciences. In the BTU Department for Energetics until 1966, alongside teaching he worked on the development of special processes and technology. He holds patents for his inventions many major countries and has overseen the putting into practice of many of them. He was the Chief Research and Development Engineer at the Institute for Energetics, Budapest up till 1992. Currently he is involved as consultant in the solution of special technical and economic-engineering problems, in the economic and technical prognosis and organisation of major developments, scenario-studies of these and in drawing up effective strategies. This book takes a multidisciplinary look at the nature and the workings of organisations in humán society, recognising the central and binding role of the concept of organisation in the economic, sociological and psychological approaches to humán society. Examining the options open to management and leadership, and the context that they work in, it presents the guiding principles which apply equally to the family, public-interest and social and business organisations, and indeed to the state and its organs.
