Since then Spain has made up for lost time both in the process of economic development and in the speed and thoroughness of her preparations for the growing flow of visitors from overseas. New and better hotels have been built all over the country, the road system has been greatly improved and there are a number of new museums. Consequently most of this book has been very extensively rewritten. Every route has been re-examined and the description of almost every town has been considerably modified. In addition an entirely new complement of maps and town plans has been redrawn in a clearer style and appear in four colours throughout; and the introductory essays on Spanish History and Architecture have been revised.
