The glory of the Holy Land
Regular tourists who visít the Holy Land, as well as those who are interest-ed mainly in its biblical aspect, will find The Glory of the Holy Land to be a treasure trove of information. Pas-sages from the Scriptures are vividly recalled when one is able to visualize their physical settings. History comes to life when you view the remains of a famous historical site - be it Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discov-ered, the site of Jesus' baptism on the Jordán, or the walls of Jericho. People who have already visited the Holy Land will find that the more than 600 colour plates will rekindle and sharpen memo-ries; future travellers, on the other hand, will find the richly-documented text an invaluable aid in planning their itine-raries.
This is a wide-ranging survey of the Holy Land: from the Mountain of Moses in southern Sinai, to the sources of the Jordán and the ruins of biblical Hazor in northern Israel.

This is a wide-ranging survey of the Holy Land: from the Mountain of Moses in southern Sinai, to the sources of the Jordán and the ruins of biblical Hazor in northern Israel.
The Glory of the Holy Land descri-bes the places that are sacred to Jews, Christians or Moslems; in addition, somé of the other religious sects in the Holy Land, such as the Druzes and Bahais, are described in the text and illustra-tions. The book follows a geographical plan, beginning with the Sinai, with particular emphasis on the famed Santa Caterina monastery. Further chapters deal with the Negev, including the ancient Nabataean cities; Judaea, with Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Hebron; the Jordán Valley, including Jericho; the Jordán River; Qumran and Masada; Samaria, including Nablus and Beth Shean; the Galilee and Laké Tiberias; Capemaum; Nazareth and Cana; and, finally, the Coastal Plain, including Haifa, Caesarea and Ramlah. Among all the books that exist on this subject, the Glory of the Holy Land is the first to offer such vivid and thorough coverage. 256 pages
