Shamanism being the complex phenomenon that it is, shamanistic studies make fascinating reading for anyone with an interest in the history of religions, anthropology, mythology, folklóré, ethnomu-sicology, ethnochoreography, psychiatry or ethnomedicine. Since it occurs worldwide, Shamarís focus is comprehensive: Turkic, Mongolian, Manchu-Tunguz, Koreán, Japanese, Finno-Ugrian, and Native American subjects are all discussed. As shamanism exists admixed with Christianity, Islam or Buddhism in many areas, Shaman alsó publishes articles dealing with the relationship of shamanism to these world religions.
