from the beginning of their existence as a free nation chosen by God, the Children of Israel were commanded to recount their miraculous exodus from Egypt. Now - on Hirsch's lOOth yahrtzeit - they have been translated into English by Karin Paritzky and adapted for the modern reader. Hirsch's commentaries, originally expressed in complex Germanic sentence structure, are presented here in clear, pleasing language.
