The tremendous boom in power boating throughout Australia and New Zealand in recent years has led to the need for a book such as this—a simple, yet authoritative book which tells the average boatman all he needs to know about running his boat.
This man regards his boat in much the same way as he does his car. He wants it to work. And he wants to gain from it trouble-free pleasure and a sense of adventure that only a boat can bring.
That is the aim of Power Boating in Australia and New Zealand—to heighten the pleasure, to add to the fun to be had from one of Australia's fastest growing sports.
POWER BOATING covers every aspect of boating, from towing and launching to simple navigation, from river cruising to weather, forecasting. And for those who want to build their own boat, it gives practical advice from the author's own experience.
The many illustrations and diagrams throughout the book add to its practical, straightforward approach.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Rod Martindale gained his wide knowledge of power boating by building and operating boats— successively, a 16-ft runabout, a 22-ft seagoing fast cruiser, "Altair II," and a sailing dingy, "Tubby".
He was commodore of one of Australia's largest sea search organisations, the South Australian Sea Rescue Squadron, which works with police in maintaining a 24-hour watch over some of our most unpredictable waters.
From making mistakes, setting out at odd hours In all kinds of weather and listening to squadron experts came this book, the distilled essence of practical knowledge gained the hard way. Vissza
