Die neue Architekturbuchreihe von TASCHEN eröffnet eine einzigartige Sieht auf die Weltarchitektur, indem sie Land für Land den neuesten architektonischen Strömungen nachspürt. Jedes Buch stellt fünfzehn bis zwanzig Architekten und Architektinnen vor - von längst etablierten bis zu jungen, aufstrebenden - und untersucht dabei insbesondere, welchen spezifischen Beitrag jeder und jede von ihnen in jüngster Zeil zur Architekturentwicklung im jeweiligen Land geleistet hal. Neben den ausführlichen Beschreibungen und zahlreichen Abbildungen der bedeutendsten neueren Projekte der verschiedenen Architekten oder Architektengemcinschaften enthalten die einzelnen Bände auch Kontaktadressen und Kurz-biografien. Diese neue, weltumspannende Reihe würdigt die facettenreiche Architekturszene der vorgestellten Länder.
Autor der Serie ist Philip Jodidio. Er studierte Kunstgeschichte und Wirtschaftswissenschaften an der Universität Harvard und war zwanzig Jahre lang Chefredakteur der führenden französischen Kunstzeitschrift Connaissance des Arts. Jodidio hat zahlreiche Zeitschriftenbeiträge und Bücher verfasst und veröffentlicht, darunter bei TASCHEN die Reihe Architccturc Now!, den Titel Building o New Millennium sowie Monografien über Norman Foster, Richard Meier, Alvaro Siza, Tadao Ando und Renzo Piano.
