About the book This first edition of this book, 1990, evolved from the author's experience as a charter member of ASTM's Committee F21 On Filtration, as chair of the subcommittee on liquid filtration (for 15 years), and as instigator of the 1986 symposium on filtration sponsored by ASTM. About 1992, The American Filtration and Separation Society put out a call for test methods in filtration. In 1995, this author gathered those teachings in A Survey of Test Methods in Fluid Filtration, which is now out of print. With that publisher's permission those teaching have been incorporated into the present, second edition of Fundamentals In writing this second edition, the author has corrected errors that appeared in the two books just mentioned, and has added teachings from more recent publications. About the Author Peter R. Johnston was trained in chemistry at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. After serving an Army combat tour in Korea, he began an R&D career in the chemical-process... Tovább

About the Author Peter R. Johnston was trained in chemistry at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. After serving an Army combat tour in Korea, he began an R&D career in the chemical-process industry, where he designed and operated pilot plants for a variety of chemical processes. In 1972 he joined Commercial Filters, Lebanon, Indiana, and began concentrating on the study of filtration. He subsequently moved to Gelman Sciences, Ann Arbor, Michigan, then to Ametek, Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Since 1992, retired from industry, he has lived in Carrboro, North Carolina, serving as a consultant to clients with an assortment of questions. Vissza
