You don't need a lot of specialist equipment—the only essential is a sushi rolling mat, which is inexpensive and widely available from good kitchen stores and even some supermarkets. However, you might also wish to invest in a sushi press, a rice spatula, and perhaps a bamboo bowl for mixing the rice in—after all, authenticity is part of the fun!
