The dozens of tidal creeks and rivers that teem with marine life flow into magnificent Chesapeake Bay. The stunning photographs include views of several of Colonial Williamsburg's leading attractions: the Governor's Palace and its gardens, Raleigh Tavern, the Duke of Gloucester Street (called "the most historic avenue in all America") and the old Capitol. Among the great mansions shown are Kenmore and Carter's Grove ("the most beautiful house in America") and of course Mt. Vernon, as are such outstanding landmark buildings as St. Luke's Church and Fortress Monroe.
