One of the most famous of all Koranic scholars, Ibn'Araby (1165-1240) wrote that "Mohammed loves women because the contemplation of God in a woman is most intense and most perfect" and that "the most intense and the most perfect unión is copulation". However, "the Prophet loved women because of their ontological role, since they are in a sense the passive receptacle or setting for the act; their relationship to the act is thus the same as that existing between universal nature and God". As a result, "it is essential to distinguish between the sexual act itself, together with the pleasure which it brings, which is mere lust, and the sexual act Vissza
