Organo Pleno
Everyone knows that
the organist is a Character.
It takes an organist to explain why
this is so. Many people have suspected
that underneath the black waistcoat beats
a heart of gold. Few know, fewer seem to care,
that the seemingly placid circumference conceals
a heating system which is brought to the boil at five-
minute intervals, for one reason or another. Organo
Pleno takes a frank look at the reasons behind the feel-
ing of impending doom which permeates an organist's
professional work. The reader must prepare to be horri-

Organo Pleno is unlikely to help anyone to pass
examinations. It is not a primer—not even an
undercoat. But its revelations of jealously-guarded
secrets cannot fail to make the reader even
more curious about the dark organ-loft stairs
and the portly character who floats up them.
Bernard Hollowood's drawings catch the
organist and some of his col-
leagues in postures which are
never even hinted at
in text books.
