Almost six feet tall, weighing 2,000 lbs, equipped with deadly armour,
the strength to throw a man on to a treetop, and a vicious temper, the
rhino has nothing to fear from any creature- except man. And for
2,000 years men have hunted rhinos mercilessly until the species has
been all but exterminated.
It is for this reason, and to preserve rhinos for mankind, that the
Rhodesian Government has been conducting 'Operation Rhino': the
capture, alive, of rhinos in places where they are being poached and
the transport of them across country to game reserves where they can
