It is perhaps most characteristic for this
province that this search can not really
be successful!. There is no landscape that
is actually "typical" of Upper Austria,
because the Salzkammergut also extends
into the provinces of Styria and Salzburg.
Even today, the Innviertel is still oriented
in many aspects towards Bavaria, the
Alpine foothills and the Muhlviertel
scarcely differ from the landscapes of
Lower Austria.
