It covers the domestic aspects of the regime between 1933 and 1939: the political system, the economy and society, propaganda and indoctrination, policies towards youth and women, the SS system of terror, antisemitism, and popular attitudes towards the regime-consent, dissent and resistance. The book is very loosely based on Parts III and IV of Documents on Nazism 1919-1945 (1974) now out of print. However, the commentary has been more or less completely rewritten and much of the documentation is new, reflecting more recent research. It contains material from a wide rangé of sources both published and unpublished: State and Party documents, newspapers, speeches, memoirs, letters and diaries. Jeremy Noakes is Professor of History at the University of Exeter. Geoffrey Pridham is Reader in European Politics at the University of Bristol. Perhaps the best introduction to the domestic history ofthe Third Reich. Times Higher Education Supplement. Vissza
