The first settlements of Hungarians in Canada were established by peasant irnmigrants almost a century ago. Later, new waves of Hungarians-came, resulting in the development of a highly urbanized^ culturally diverse ethnic group. Struggle and Hope surveys the historical and cultural background of Canada's Hungarians, examines the causes oi their emigration, discusses their individual and collective efforts at adjustment and integration, as well as acceptance and fulfilment in this country.
