Arthur Rackham's imaginative book illustrations have delighted generations of children since his work first appeared—in Anthony Hope's The Dolly Dialogues in 1894. Arthur Rackham's illustrations for the Fairy Tales of Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, first published in 1900, and those for the many volumes of children's tales that followed made him one of England's leading book illustrators, and he soon became equally famous in America. Today the original editions of these handsome volumes have become treasured heirlooms.
