When children went to school before the turn of the century, it was a strict, regimented and hated place. They were made to sit at desks in long rows with the teacher at the front and were not allowed to move unless given permission. The changes Maria Montessori made marked the start of an important world-wide progression in education and in the way that adults think of and treat young children. The benefits of the Montessori Method are felt in every school and by every child today. Vissza
