The woven moccasins and salt bottle on the front cover are from a museum collection of Iroquois Indian
artifacts. The moccasins were skilfully woven in the early 1900's. They were lined with soft fibre and worn
inside of deerskin boots as insulation. The salt bottle was made in the 1800's by twisting husks into cordage
and sewing the strips together.
