MARCELLA MARKHAM who wrote A Chauvinist is . . . was born in New York City and lives in London. She is an actress and a mother and has been married too many times. Always to distinguished chauvinists. Believing no experience should be wasted she has savoured every horrendous and ecstatic moment, and put them in this book. 'I think the idea is a good one. As I get older I'm becoming more aware of chauvinists - male and female. I'm getting to think I may be one. And it's good to laugh at the whole idea of chauvinism because it's all been taken too seriously. This whole Women's Liberation thing is all getting too heavy. They can't see the wood for the trees.'
