Relay 2 is the second level of a four-level course.
Relay is a specially designed course for young learners and teenagers attending summer schools and
short courses. Relay has been written by teachers experienced at teaching learners in this age range
and is based on the views and comments of many teachers working on short courses in recent years.
Relay 2 is for elementary and early intermediate learners. It is divided into two laps, each containing
enough material for 30 to 40 hours of teaching so there is 60-80 hours in total.
The laps mean that:
* students can join half way through the course and yet begin at the beginning of a lap
* teachers can use the material with greater flexibility
* there is in-built consolidation, lap 2 building on lap 1
Relay encourages:
* language in use
* communicative English
* lively student participation and interaction
* confidence in oral/aural skills
* grammatical competence
* vocabulary development
