This is the story of Louis Braille, the thirteen-year-old blind boy who invented braille, the simple but inspired system of raised dots that now enables millions of blind people all over the world to read books - just like other people.
Louis Braille lost his sight when he was only three years old. As he grew up he clung to a passionate belief that the tragedy of being blind should not shut him off from the life of society, hemmed in by ignorance and dependence on others.

The simple, six-dot code he developed in 1833 and 1834 is now the international alphabet of the blind. Easy to understand and economic to print,... Tovább
