This is a timely book. Its themes of final Judgment and man's need for Repentance and Holiness in an age of increasing materialism and technological idolatry certainly need to be sounded, and the Evangelical Sisterhood of Mary at Darmstadt is admirably suited to be the vehicle for sounding the 'trumpets' of judgment to which both the Book of Revelation and the present author refer. Mother Basilea writes again with all the fervency which those familiar with her previous works will expect. At a time when it is the religious sects which have sought to isolate and emphasize the important facts of the Second Advent, Scriptural holiness and the conflict with 'principalities and powers,' this work, written from the standpoint of a devout Ghristian believer who is a member of the Lutheran Church, assumes greater significance. Whilst she seeks to relate the achievements of modern research and the potentialities of recent technology to the Bible record, somé may ask whether she is moulding the evidence of Scripture to a certain view of eschatological interpretation. But one must admit that her endeavour throughout is to allow the Word of God to speak quite freely to the events of this atomic age and her conclusions are those which most naturally follow from the evidence she provides. This means that this book is both a sincere and moving contribution to the revival in Church circles of a deeper concern for the themes with which this book deals.
