In the past decades significant advances have been made in the diagnosis of cardiac and vascular diseases with respect to invasive and non-invasive methods. This book written by ten prominent Hungarian cardiologists describes the currently used non-in-vasive techniques including echocardiography, radionuclide cardiography, mecha-nocardiography, etc. in detail and compares the usefulness of invasive and non-invasive measurements in evaluating cardiac activity. Non-invasive clinicopharmacological examination and non-invasive examination of the right ventricle have been studied at depth in a whole chapter.
The volume gives an overview of the physiological aspects of recent research as well as of the clinical application of non-invasive methods.

The volume consists of contributions by acknowledged experts from many parts of the world engaged in cardiovascular pharmacology, physiology, pathophysiology and biochemistry. It provides a useful source of information on the latest findings, the current concepts and the future prospects concerning antiarrhythmic drugs, endogenous vasodilators and vascular regulators, antianginal and antihypertensive drugs, pharmacological protection from myocardial injury and vascular damage, inotropic mechanism and cardiotonic agents.
