The selected contributions of the XIII"1 International Congress of the International Association for Cross-Cultural Psychology (IACCP) are grouped in six sections: Values and Identity includes articles on the culture conflict experienced by young South Asians living in the UK, and on Australian and Canadian university students' attitudes and values. Immigration and Acculturation includes works on first- and secondgeneration immigrant students in Montreal, female-headed Hindustani families, the influence of apartheid on Black South Africans, loneliness of second-generation Portuguese adolescents living abroad, and adjustment problems of Filipina domestic workers. This section alsó includes an analysis linking the concepts of enculturation and acculturation to ethnic identity and patterns of identifications. Personality and Social Behavior across Cultures addresses indigenous Spanish personality constructs, cultural influence on attitudes and beliefs about suicide, intergenerational communication patterns, a measure of Kiasuism, and somé dominant themes of Indián collectivism. The paper on homesickness has implications for counselling. OrganizationalAA/ork Psychology deals with characteristics and motivation for leadership, the Model of Culture Fit, and Chinese organizations' influence tactics. In the Educational and Developmental Psychology section, one article argues for a culture sensitive pedagogy and another compares school children with different socialization traditions in terms of social competence. The final section, Conceptual/Methodological Issues, reflects on the difficulty of conceptualizing the place of the individual in culture and society, and addresses cross-cultural psychology's early interest in research ethics. The volume concludes with cross-cultural ethical guidelines. Vissza
