Covering at least 100,000 miles a year all over the world K. Westcott Jones is one of the best known and most widely read travel writers of today. He is the author of the out-standingly successful GREAT RAILWAY JOURNEYS OF THE WORLD.
Lavishly illustrated with photographs from 25 countries.

One of the most prolific travel writers and lovers of railways is Ken Westcott Jones. He is a man of astonishing industry. He writes for numerous newspapers and maga-zines and he is always on the move.
You meet him one day in London.
"Where next?" you ask.
"I shall be off to Bermuda on Wednes-day. I came back from Africa last weekend. Later I shall be going into the Arctic Circle —by train, of course."
He adores steam engines, hates diesels but will settle for efficient electrification.
When he gets the time to write books as well is always a matter of wonder to his friends. But he does write books, and very good they are.
His latest is entitled "Great Railway Journeys ofthe World". It is his vivid ac-count of eighteen railway journeys taken in all parts ofthe world. He writes of seventeen from personal experience. The odd one is the tale about the Trans-Siberian from Moscow to the Pacific Ocean. Even in this case he can claim to have seen the express leave Moscow on its immense journey.
Illustrated with excellent photographs, the book makes fascinating reading.
RAILWAY REVIEW
One can read of all the places one would have liked to visit, given the opportunity (and the money). To many who travelled over one or more of the routes selected by the author there will be an added nostalgic pleasure.
The ideál would be to make all these excursions after jreading this book.
Many people have a keen sense of observa-tion but fail dismally in attempting to pass on to others, the impact of what they have seen. Here the author scores, for he not only has an inquiring mind, he is able vividly to recount to his readers a unique image of all he has seen and experienced.
