He made the whip himself.
In the first century Christ made a whip to drive the moneychangers " out of the-Temple. In the twentieth century how would Christ respond to the church's growing préoccupation with material things?
The Old Testament prophets charged Israël with idolatry, accusing her of prostitution to make their condemnation clear. The people of God had sold themselves to the allurements of political security, social acceptability and economic growth. In this prophétie book John White asks us to consider whether we, too, are worshiping the golden cow.
John White was a staff member with the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students in Latin America and associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Manitoba. He is a writer and speaker living in Ontario. His other books include The Fight, Eros Defiled, Daring to Draw Near and The Masks of Melancholy.
"John White has pounced on probably the most pervasive and hideous sin of the twentieth century Western Church." Eternity Vissza
