Fülszöveg
This volume surveys the most recent
research on the neurological mechanisms
underlying Alzheimer's disease, senile de-
mentia, and behavioral disorders associated
with aging. It includes studies on the struc-
ture, electrophysiology, neuroendocrinology,
and biochemistry of the aging brain, as well
as discussions of recent advances in the clini-
cal and pharmacological management of
age-related disorders. Particular emphasis is
placed on the effects of aging on brain
neurotransmitters and receptors and on the
implications of these findings for the design
and development of more effective and spe-
cific pharmacological agents.
This volume will be of interest to neuro-
scientists in general and to neuropharmacolo-
gists, neurologists, and psychiatrists in par-
ticular. It will serve as a useful reference
guide to current laboratory and clinical pro-
cedures for all researchers and clinicians
working in the area of aging.
