The conference was the second of its kincl (the first was held in Tueson, Arizanay USA, 1976) and was sponsored by the International-Committee on Natural Zeolites, the Hungárián Academy of Sciences, the Hungárián Minist iv of Industry, the Veszprém University, Hungary, and several local industrial and trade companies. The meeting was atlended by 160 partícipants from 34 couniries. The book contains the following chapters: Geology and Mineralogy, invojving typical features and peculiarities of different occurrences; Synthesis and Stability, comprising among others the formation and transformation of /.eolites; Crystal v'v "" . • Chemistry and Physical Properties, dealing m-ainly with structural characterisiics of fundamental importance; Applications are surveyed in generál from different aspects... Under Miscellaneous the application of zeolites for solar energy utilization and for radioactive waste disposal should be mentioned. The v olume includes 57 articles, 9 inviied papers and gives an account of the latest - progress in research and technology.
