Other interesting features are: guidance for the pronunciation of artists' names, locations of major monuments and summaries of the essential issues.
Apart from a general introduction, the point in time chosen for this initial study is that epoch of categorical change: the 15th century. On the novel platform of ideas wrought at that particular time, rests the whole edifice of Renaissance Art in its broadest sense—that is, the period between Medieval days and our own (ca. 1400-1900). This is therefore centrally important in understanding most of the art and architecture around us.
