Hungárián work in the field of international trade is well ahead of that in most of the other eastern European countries. This collection of essays, several of them specially commissioned, includes contributions by many distinguished Hungárián economists working on the subject. Professor Vajda himself exercised a significant influence on the economic thinking of his country. The volume contains two essays by him, as well as a préfacé written shortly before his death in 1969.
