Based on an original concept by the Grand Master of modern science fiction, here is a thrilling adventure from the hidden history of World War II —and a chilling look at the genetic/robotic conflicts of the next century.
As a young man, Isaac Asimov visited the 1939 New York World's Fair. The wonders he saw there impressed him deeply, and led to one of the greatest careers in science fiction, including his immortal "Three Laws of Robotics." They also led to a revolutionary and terrifying idea that is only now being brought to life in this unique new illustrated novel.
Rejected by the U.S. Army, Elliot Hecht joined the newly formed O.S.S., spying on the Nazis from across the border in Switzerland. The only weapon capable of "taking on the Reich's Man of Iron was a similar creature, Golden Boy, based on an exhibit at the 1939 World's Fair. Like Iron Man, Golden Boy was a creation with a mind and will of its own. These robots have their own agendas, which have little to do with humankind's petty wars.
The turn of the next century, 2006, finds the descendants of Allied scientists —an idealistic young man and a woman as beautiful as she is brilliant —racing to stop the climactic battle of this superhuman conflict before all civilization is destroyed.
An unprecedented three-way collaboration between the greatest SF genius of all time, a team of exciting young writers, and an acclaimed action artist, this unique illustrated novel is a major publishing event. Only the Grand Master himself could have foreseen the terror depicted in Isaac Asimov's History of l-Botics. And only today's finest graphic storytellers could have brought it so vividly to life.
